A note from my newest intern Jenny Lansing.

Unexpected Experience

I had contacted Simone as a potential blogging intern a few weeks ago. We had met and talked about everything from fashion culture to the industry. At the end of the day, I was told to give her a call if I was still interested. I connected with Simone once more for my interest in becoming a blogging intern. She had told me to meet her at the studio to talk more. To my surprise, I was in store for something greater.

As I first walked in the door I was automatically welcomed by an amazing group of artists. Simone had introduced me to photographer Tim Engle, make-up artist Jenifer Haupt, and hair stylist Stacey Barton. I could tell that Simone had chosen a strong group of talented and unique individuals due to their positive and friendly aura. In addition to the trio were two models Victoria Scott, a potential editorial model and Reanna Petroski, up and coming model to the fashion industry. While working behind the scenes of the shoot I was able to take photos between the connection of the model and photographer. Both were able to stand and deliver their ideas and energy to the shoot. During each session, both Jenifer and Stacey worked together on each model to put the finishing touches for Tim to capture. In addition, Simone styled both models as a base to their shoot accordingly.

Along with a wonderful cast of artists, I was able to meet with photography intern, Julia Maass and marketing intern, Marley Shimamura. Together, we were able to grasp the concept of each role that Simone, Tim, Jenifer, and Stacey have done throughout the whole day. At the end of the day this has been one of the most rewarding experiences that have happened to my life. For someone who is an aspiring fashion major, I will continue to learn through Simone’s wisdom as I progress on to the fashion industry.
